1990 Linkwood 19 Year Old Speyside

Colour: Chardonnay.

Nose: Quite superb at first nosing, with a very peculiar combination of dried roses. It’s also quite smoky and grassy, with also notes of orange cake and… other cakes (your pick). With water: grass and smoke. We’re almost in a farm… Quite some hay and fern!

Mouth (neat): Punchy and close to the malt, with probably a little less personality than on the nose. Barley sugar, cereals, apples, table grapes… Good sweetness and again a faint smokiness. With water: same profile, maybe even a tad sweeter, almost sugary. It’s actually very, very pleasant, very natural, very close to sweet malted barley.

Finish: Long and just as natural.
