The distillery is based near Portsoy on the Banffshire coast overlooking the Moray Firth (AB45 2SQ). It was mothballed in 1986, but then was opened with some American backing in 2008.

A typical highland, but with a hint of coastal - giving the nose a fruity edge, with some sweetness and wood. The palate is sweet and toasted with apples and pears. The finish is medium with subtle sea and smoke.

Colour: Gold.

Nose: Very fresh, on light notes of flowers, acacia honey and cereals as well as a faint toastiness.

Mouth: Sweet, cereally and malty with touches of caramel and gingerbread.

Finish: Medium long, very malty
