2022 Macon Solutre Pouilly Domaine Vaupre

Traditionally planted at 8,000 vines per hectare, the vines have a respectable average age of 50 years.

This is the pure expression of Chardonnay, pale gold with green tints. Fruity and floral, mineral touch with white flowers, and a good length in the mouth.

Growing their grapes on slopes overlooking Solutre, one of the finest of all the Pouilly Fuisse villages, use oak carefully, not to create oaky flavours but to allow an exchange between oxygen and the developing wine. The results are spectacular.

The resulting wine is bursting with fresh apple aromas and hints of tropical fruits. Slightly buttery on the palate with a good acidity.
