1979 Glenury - Royal SMWS 75.5 15 Year Old 61.9% Abv Highland Scottish Malt Whisky Society

Nose: Quite spirity and very oaky attack, but it then develops very nicely, on tea and gooseberries….It then gets a little minty. Playful and highly enjoyable, with a very long development on lots of various ‘micro-aromas’.

Mouth: A superb mix of fresh mint, white pepper and liquorice. Wow, that’s pretty nice! Not monstrously complex but so satisfying, special, with a perfect roundness. Quite some marzipan. The finish is long, the malt keeps developing on olive oil and lemon seeds. The nose was very nice but the mouth is fantastic. A beautiful Glenury
