The 'original' sets a high standard for Highland whisky, and has gone from strength to strength since its slightly controversial packaging redesign a few years ago. Medium-bodied and gently warming, with pleasant spicy notes.
Nose: Minerality, waxiness… Some pu-ehr tea as well, cigars, drops of lemon liqueur…
Mouth: Starts grassy, with an oily texture and notes of lemon, and gets then waxy,, with some barley, cardboard, and green pepper.
Finish: Plump,and peppery
