From Howell Mountain comes this blend of 75% Cab., 19% Merlot, 2% Malbec, 5% Cab. Franc, 1% Petit Verdot aged for 24 months in French oak barrels (95% new, 5% second vintage). Due to the mountain origin of the fruit, it received an extra year in barrel. A lovely expression of US Cab - tempered by 25% of other varietals which add to the aromas of spices, cigar box, cocoa powder, rich dried cherry and red currant. On the palate there are delightful tannins with hints of cedar, sage, plum and rhubarb. Ideal with dried mushrooms and blue cheese or rich red meat based dishes.
