An interesting wine made in an unusual manner. Old vine Emilia-Romagna sangiovese is blended with the ancient indigenous variety Uva longanesi. Part of the harvest is dried - 'parziale appassite' prior to pressing and oak aging in French barriques. This gives a similar depth of flavour found in Amarone i.e. full bodied with little acid. Easy to drink on its own or pair with feathered game and rich mushroom dishes.
