From their website: "This wine is 100% made with the Tinta de Toro variety [Toro's own name for Tempranillo, tends to mean richer in style than N. Rioja]. Careful selection of vineyards over 50 years old. It has remained for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
The visual phase has a very closed layer marked by a remarkable ruby color with garnet reflections.
In the olfactory phase it is a complex and elegant wine. A quiet glass spicy notes of pepper and nutmeg assembled with a background of black fruits are appreciated. When the glass is aerated, the wine opens up, enhancing the fruit aromas of the Tinta de Toro accompanied by touches of cedar and leather.
The palate is broad, dense and glyceric. After a very sucrose entry, the palate is smooth, with mature and elegant tannins that structure a wine with great volume and an amazingly long finish. A combination of ripe fruits and tertiary aromas sustained by a surprising acidity that augurs a long life to this wine."
Gold medal winner of the prestigious CINVE (international wine and spirits) award in Valladolid from 2012.
A really great wine to pair with anything from the coals.
