Glenmorangie 'The Culloden Bottle' Vintage 1971 Single Highland Malt Whisky Special Limited Edition Bottle Number 1633, 70 cl, 43% vol.
The Glenmorangie 'The Culloden Bottle' Vintage 1971 is a special limited edition released in 1995 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Battle of Culloden. Only 2,500 bottles were produced in collaboration with the National Museum of Scotland, and the bottle design was inspired by an 18th-century flask from Culloden House. Here are its tasting notes:
Nose: Complex and multi-layered, featuring creamy vineyard peach, dried orange peel, caramelized sugar, hazelnuts, vanilla, and honey. A fresh touch of peppermint and menthol adds vibrancy, while musty wood tones and dried fruit provide depth.
Palate: Fruity and creamy with dried berries, spicy wood tones, black pepper, and subtle herbal notes. A touch of grapefruit zest and oranges enhances the complexity, while menthol freshness and forest honey linger.
Finish: Long and warming, with malted barley, dark fruit, and a refined oak presence.
This whisky is highly regarded for its rich historical significance and distinctive character.
