1980s Glenfiddich Pure Malt Special Old Reserve 37.5cl in presentation tube

Colour: pale straw.

Nose: rather expressive, grainy,  with a slight smokiness at first nosing. Gets much mashier (bold notes of mashed potatoes and boiled milk) and then rather grassy, with also whiffs of violets and lilac. Wilder than more recent versions.

Mouth: An attack that’s pretty good, hugely grainy, grassy and dry.
