Here are the tasting notes for the 1980s bottling of Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey, a historic blend from John Power & Son, produced at the original John's Lane distillery before consolidation into Midleton:

Powers Gold Label (1980s) – Speculative Tasting Notes

Appearance: Deep golden honey with amber glints

Nose: Crisp apple, cinnamon spice, and candied apricot. Hints of pear, brown sugar, and toasted oak. Light floral notes with vanilla and malt grai. nA touch of cherry candies and earthy spice.

Palate: Sweet honey and caramel up front. Rich toasted oak, vanilla, and green apple. Notes of red cherry, raspberry, and nutmeg. Oaky tannins and a touch of spicy malt

Finish: Long and warming. Lingering oak, caramel, and fruit. A buttery mouthfeel with pot still oils and spice fade
