Caol Ila - First Cask 1983 - Islay - 20 year old 46% vol

This is bottle 342, from cask 54. Distilled 12th January 1983.

From old tasting notes: "on the nose smoke and seaside. The palate is peaty and unctuous. The finish and interesting spice, bitter almonds and seaside essence".The label spells it 'Caol Isla'.

Colour: straw.

Nose: it’s an appeased Caol Ila, starting all on seashells and marzipan and developing on a rather subtle combination of slight slightly overripe apples, almond milk

Mouth: Perfect balance between the citrusy notes, the minerality and the peat.

Finish: medium long but extremely clean. Perfect.
