2020 Burg Layer Schlosskapelle Riesling Auslese Nahe Germany

The unique blue bottle reflects an interesting historical aspect of the Nahe region. During times when the glass was formed locally, the bottles took on a bluish-green colour. This was due to the mineral element in the local sand – primarily Cobalt. This unusual glass colour gave the wine bottles of the Nah region a differentiating feature even back then.

Wines from this area are of exceptional quality and due to the location This wine has a fresh, lifted nose of apricots, honeysuckle and summer hedgerows. On the palate there is baked apple pie, rich fruity body and balanced acidity.

The finish is long and enjoyable, but not cloying. Ideal with cold meats, cheeses and summer desserts.
