Appearance - Deep amber‑gold, with a thick, oily cling — classic high‑strength Ardbeg from a sherry butt.

Nose - A powerful collision of sweetness and smoke, exactly as the SMWS nickname suggests.

Cooked fruit, dried fruit, raisin, treacle. Charcoal, kippery peat, coal‑gas, toasted embers.

Honey, vanilla, milk chocolate. Leather, moss, tobacco leafIndustrial hints: rubbery/plastic notes, old wood, yeasty warmth. A dramatic, complex nose — half beauty, half beast.

Palate - Explosive, oily, and intensely smoky. Thick peat smoke, charcoal dust, smoked herbs. Stewed fruits, dates, fig syrup. Lemon oil, grapefruit pith. Toasted nuts, moss, damp oak. Iodine, sea spray, tarrich, oily, mouth‑coating, with a savoury‑sweet interplay. A big, muscular Ardbeg with sherry butt depth and raw Islay power.
