Ardbeg Grooves 46% Abv

Ardbeg Grooves (46% ABV) is a limited-edition Islay single malt released for Ardbeg Day 2018, matured in heavily charred red wine casks that created deep “grooves” in the wood. It’s a mellow yet complex dram, balancing Ardbeg’s signature peat with sweet, spicy, and smoky layers.

Nose — Rich and layered: iodine, seaweed, and golden syrup mingle with lavender, damp bonfire wood, and old oak. There’s a subtle sweetness of butterscotch, stone fruits, and marzipan icing that rounds out the earthy funk.

Palate — A bold, salty opening evolves into vanilla fudge, toffee popcorn, and tarred orchard fruits. Savoury BBQ notes of cured meats meet paprika, green chilli, and scorched herbs, underpinned by antique leather and damp oak.

Finish — Long and smoky, with seaside bonfire, smoked salts, and a lingering mellow sweetness.
