Highland, Scotland — Tasting Notes
Appearance - Deep amber‑gold with copper glints; oily legs that hint at weight and richness.
Nose - A classic, rugged Highland profile — earthy, malty, and richly aromatic. Damp oak, malt loaf, and dried fruits. Orange peel, lemon zest, and a touch of pine resin. Toffee, vanilla, and a faint industrial / metallic note typical of Ben Nevis. A whisper of smoke and dunnage warehouse must. This is one of the most characterful noses in the Highlands: old‑school, complex, and unapologetically distinctive.
Palate - Full‑bodied, oily, and deeply flavoursome. Rich malt, toffee, and dark honey. Dried apricot, sultana, and orange marmalade. Earthy depth: wet stone, leather, cocoa, and light smoke. A savoury, slightly funky edge — the signature Ben Nevis ferment character. Spice builds: ginger, clove, white pepper
Finish - Long, warming, and complex. Oak spice, dark chocolate, and malt loaf. Lingering citrus oils, earth, and a touch of smoky dryness
