Calanca recipe is inspired by aniseed liqueurs from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Its incomparable freshness comes from the subtle association of star anise (sweet flavours) with bitter (mugwort, etc.) and fresh (verbena, dill, peppermint plants, etc.).
Appearance: Clear with a pale yellow-green hue.
Aroma: Dominant star anise fragrance, complemented by hints of fennel, peppermint, and other fresh and bitter herbs.
Taste: Harmonious blend of anise, sweet and fresh notes from peppermint, and a slight bitterness from herbs like armoise.
Finish: Refreshing and lively with a lingering sweet anise and herbal bouquet.
It's a wonderful choice for a traditional French aperitif when enjoyed with cold water and ice
