Speyside • 1st‑Fill Ex‑Bourbon Barrel • 57.9% ABV • 237 bottles
Appearance - Bright golden straw, with a waxy, slow‑moving viscosity from the high ABV.
Nose - Mineral brightness: wet stone, chalk dust, flint. Exotic fruit: mango, papaya, passionfruit. Citrus lift: lemon peel, grapefruit oil. Honey, vanilla pod, and light fudge. Waxiness reminiscent of polished oak and beeswax. Subtle savoury touches: coal‑gas, leafy herbs, moss, old wood A beautifully complex nose — fruity, mineral, waxy, and quietly mature.
Palate
Neat:- Citrus oils, honeycomb, and vanilla cream. Cooked orchard fruit: baked apple, pear compote. Chocolate shavings, toasted cereal, and nutty warmth. A firm mineral spine and Cragganmore’s gentle smoky‑coal edge
With water: More exotic fruit (mango, passionfruit)Waxier texture, more rounded sweetness. Hay, fresh herbs, and a faint tobacco leaf note
Finish - Medium‑long, warming, and textural. Vanilla, honey, and citrus peel. Old wood, leather, and a touch of smoke/coal‑gas. A final echo of wax, dried fruit, and toasted grain
