Duncan Taylor – Bunnahabhain Peated 9 Year Old (2014–2023) 54.1% ABV
Islay Single Malt | Single Cask | Cask Strength (54.1% ABV)
Appearance - Bright golden straw with a faint coastal haze. Viscous legs reflecting its natural cask‑strength weight
Aroma - A vibrant, youthful Islay peat profile: Clean, coastal smoke — bonfire ash and sea spray. Sweet malt, vanilla, and warm cereal notes. Hints of lemon peel, green apple, and light herbal peat. A touch of charred driftwood and earthy spice
Palate - Full‑bodied, energetic, and smoky at cask strength. Waves of peat smoke, brine, and toasted barley. Peppery warmth and a subtle herbal edge from the young, vibrant spirit. Water opens it into a softer, sweeter profile with more fruit and malt
Finish - Long, smoky, and coastal. Lingering ash, sweet malt, and a final flicker of pepper and citrus. Clean, maritime fade
A rare peated Bunnahabhain — more rugged and coastal than the distillery’s unpeated core. Duncan Taylor’s single‑cask approach preserves the whisky’s raw, elemental Islay character. Natural colour and non‑chill filtration ensure full texture and authenticity
