The Glenfiddich 12 Year Old Caoran Reserve is a rare, discontinued expression that offered a peated twist on the classic Glenfiddich profile—an unusual move for a Speyside distillery known for its elegant, fruit-forward style. “Caoran” is Gaelic for peat embers, and this bottling was an experimental nod to smoky Highland traditions.
Tasting Notes
Nose :- Soft malt and cereal notes. Ground hazelnuts, vanilla, and gentle oak. A subtle layer of smoke—more perfumed than punchy
Palate :- Sweet and malty, with light fruitiness. A touch of wood spice and smoke that builds gradually. Hints of barley, honey, and toasted nuts
Finish :- Lingering perfumed smoke with a faint medicinal edge. Crisp and warming, with greenn herbal notes on the tail
