The Grand Marnier Révélation Grande Cuvée is one of the most Cognac‑driven expressions the house has ever released, built on XXO‑level Grande Champagne eaux‑de‑vie and only a dash of bitter‑orange essence. Its tasting profile is unusually deep, woody, and luxurious for an orange liqueur, reading almost like a fine aged Cognac with an orange‑infused signature.
Aromatics: Depth, warmth, and aged‑Cognac complexity. Medium amber with copper highlights, signalling long ageing. Exceptional depth and length, with fresh, round bitter orange woven through woody, tobacco and dried‑plum facets. Additional layers of vanilla, almond, honeysuckle, and earthy warmth appear in retail tasting descriptions. This nose is far more Cognac‑forward than classic Grand Marnier Cuvées, with orange acting as an accent rather than the core.
Palate: Intense, structured, and Cognac‑led. Intense woody and tobacco notes from old Cognac dominate the palate. Fresh bitter orange integrates with dried fruit, apricot, almond, and oak. The texture is voluptuous and rich, with a long, layered evolution. Walnut and vanilla appear on the finish, adding warmth and length. The structure is closer to a mature XO/XXO Cognac than a typical liqueur—dense, elegant, and slow‑unfolding.
Finish: Long, nutty, and refined. Wood, walnut, tobacco, and delicate bitter‑orange linger with impressive persistence. A subtle vanilla and dried‑fruit echo rounds out the aftertaste. This finish reinforces the sense of an aged Cognac with a lifted citrus signature.
Built from 68 eaux‑de‑vie exclusively from Grande Champagne, aged minimum 14 years—an unusually high Cognac content for any liqueur.
Uses XXO‑grade Cognac with only a dash of bigaradia (bitter‑orange) essence.
Best served neat or on the rocks, optionally with orange peel rubbed along the rim to amplify the citrus oils.
