John Walker & Sons Private Collection 2014 Edition is a limited-release blended Scotch whisky, crafted from 29 carefully selected casks to highlight the smoky characteristics of Highland, Island, and Islay whiskies. This was the first edition in a planned annual series, with only 8,888 individually numbered decanters released worldwide.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Rich and aromatic, with smoky leather, salt, dried fruit, nuts, vanilla, and cedar wood. Water enhances fruitiness, earthy coal dust, and waxy notes.

Palate: Wonderfully balanced, with smoky notes integrated with nuts and berry fruit. Water brings out spice, honey, and buttery vanilla.

Finish: Long and elegant, featuring oak, spice, mild smoke, and faint salt.

This whisky was blended by Master Blender Jim Beveridge, using experimental casks from Diageo’s Calculus trial, which explored the effects of maturation over decades. It has been praised for its complexity and balance, earning a 94-point rating
