The Johnnie Walker Blenders' Batch Triple Grain American Oak is an experimental release crafted by master blender Jim Beveridge. Aged for 10 years in American oak, including bourbon casks, it features a blend of three grain whiskies (wheat, barley, and corn) alongside malts from Cardhu and Mortlach2. Here are its tasting notes:
Nose: Citrus zest and spice lead the way, with hints of candied orange and lemon. A touch of vanilla and oak adds depth.
Palate: Creamy and smooth, showcasing sweet vanilla, toffee, and roasted nuts. Subtle baking spices like cinnamon and nutmeg enhance the complexity.
Finish: Spicy and warming, mellowing into fruity sweetness with oak, vanilla pudding, and a touch of spearmint. The citrus and spice remain throughout.
This whisky was inspired by Beveridge’s time blending bourbon and rye in Kentucky, making it a unique Scotch with American whiskey influences
