Talisker North 57% Abv NAS (57%, OB, 2010)

Colour: Pale gold. 

Nose: Powerful, fresh, clean and as mineral and coastal as malt whisky can be at first sniffs. Lots of lemon and  peat. With water: Smoke and ashes..

Mouth (neat): Superbly zesty, lemon, peat, pepper and brine. With water: same but becomes more coastal. Some unexpected touches of aromatic fruits. 

Finish: Long, rounded with touches of vanilla. 

Comments: Excellent and, contrarily to many modern NAS’, not ridden with vanilla. Loud applause.
