A 'mystery' Orkney distillery has been bottled by Elixir distillers as part of the new range of Reserve Cask Single Malts of Scotland bottlings. Produced from a hand selected number of casks (between 4-6) and bottled at 48% ABV. This is a very fresh and citrusy whisky on the nose, with earthiness and minerality and a sublte ash. The palate is fresh, oily, sweet and smokey while the finish is long, sweet, heathery and smokey. Likely to be the most northerly of the Orkney distilleries, this is a classically lighter and fresher whisky that shows off the underlying character of this distillery.

Appearance - Pale gold with a soft straw brightness — classic refill‑bourbon clarity.

Nose - Fresh, clean, and distinctly Orcadian :Bright citrus — lemon peel, grapefruit zest. Earthiness and minerality, exactly as noted on your tab A gentle thread of heather smoke and subtle ash. Barley sugar, vanilla pod, and a faint coastal breeze. It’s lighter and fresher than many Orkney malts, with a beautifully natural profile.

Palate - Oily, sweet, and quietly smoky — matching the HTFW description but expanded into full texture. Sweet malt, vanilla cream, and honeyed cereal. A bright lift of citrus oils and green apple. Soft smoke, charred heather, and a touch of sea‑salted oak. A gentle earthy depth that keeps the sweetness in check. The mouthfeel is notably oily and supple, giving the whisky more weight than the nose suggests.
