This is a very rare bottle of The Society's Special Highland Blend, which was produced in the 1960s. It was made before The Wine Society was forced to change the name of the blend, as it was not made from 100% Highland whiskies.
Colour: Very light, reminiscent of a golden Sauterne.
Nose: Lemon zest, grass, peat, saltwater spray. Beautifully light, it comes up to kiss your nose with wisps of smoke without being at all overpowering.
Taste: A light savoury flavour with peat and hints of rosewater. This isn't a sweet or rich whisky, but rather cuts through with beautifully clean flavours.
Finish: Gooseberries, along with an almost effervescent burst of flowers right at the end.
